Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Privilege of Praying as God’s People
Hymn: 267 – “Come, Thou Almighty King”
Devotional and Prayer Points: Deuteronomy 30:9-14 – Blessings, Obedience and Nearness. Moses, addressing the people of Israel who were about to enter the Promised Land, reminded them of the secret of success: God’s blessings abundantly flow when God’s people express their love for Him through whole-heated obedience to His commands. This is not too difficult for normal people to do! God has put His word very near to us. It is “in your mouth” so that we can repeat it to each other, encourage each other, correct each other, bless each other. It is “in your heart” so that we can think it, understand it, and react to it. Obedience is possible! (NIV Application Commentary)
[PRAYER POINTS] Let’s begin by thanking God for the promise of blessing and the nearness of the word. We can continue by expressing our need for and appreciation of the Holy Spirit’s ministry to us through His word. Let’s ask God to use His word powerfully in each ministry of BFC, most especially through the Sunday morning and evening services. Remember to pray also for our children at Word of Life Camp, and our Youth at the Stay at Home Work Camp this week. Don’t forget to ask God’s blessing and help for the Growth Challenge project. Pray as well for the burdens and blessing of your heart.
Benediction: Revelation 22:21 (NIV) – “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.”
